What Sets Rejuran Healer Apart From Skin Boosters?
If you are a beauty and skin enthusiast, you would already know about the wonders of skin boosters and the various types available. For those new to this area, here is a quick introduction of skin boosters, Rejuran Healer and how they can help improve your skin.
The main ingredient in a typical skin booster is Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a sugar found naturally in our body that retains water to keep the target areas hydrated and plump. This naturally occurring substance is able to hold water a thousand times its own weight and is thus an extremely powerful humectant.
Skin boosters deliver HA to dehydrated skin to replenish moisture for improved glow and health. This treatment is usually done via an injector-gun, manually injected by the doctor or through a needleless transdermal air jet system. Patients with a fear of needles (trypanophobia) will usually opt for the needleless option.
Types of Skin Boosters
There are several types of skin boosters available in the market, each with unique features and their own
technology ranging from various cross-linkage chains to unique ingredients – all with the common goal of improving skin hydration.
Restylane Vital / Vital light Skin Boosters

Being the first skin booster in the market, Restylane Vital uses partial cross-linked HA chains containing up to 20mg/ml of hyaluronic acid per syringe.
A quick breakdown of what cross-linkages represent: Cross-linkages determine how dense the hyaluronic acid chains are in the skin boosters. Imagine having a thousand pocket spaces for water molecules to attach themselves to the HA.
The higher the cross-linkage of HA, the less spaces there are for water molecules to attach themselves to but has longer lasting effects.
Teosyal Redensity I
Teosyal Redensity I (RD1) is a skin booster that differs from Restylane as it uses non cross-linked technology and each RDI contains 15mg/ml of hyaluronic acid. RD1 is made up of 2 minerals,
1 vitamin, 8 amino acids and 3 highly powerful antioxidants including Glutathione – a whitening ingredient.
This makes RD1 a popular option among users as they help to achieve a fairer complexion whilst also providing the fundamental hydrating effects.

Juvederm Volite
A latest addition to the world of skin boosters, Juvederm Volite is a cross-linked skin booster for fine lines and improved skin elasticity containing 13mg/ml of HA per syringe. Juvederm Volite boasts of its unique cross- linkage made possible by its patented VycrossTM technology by Allergan.
What sets Juvederm Volite apart is that it only requires one treatment to produce the desired hydrating effects compared to 3 treatments from other skin boosters. If the idea of too many injections put you off or you prefer a shorter downtime, then Juvederm Volite might just be what you need!
Rejuran Healer
Now that you understand what are skin boosters and the various available types, we introduce you to another alternative to not only boost skin hydration, but one with regenerative effects as well. Rejuran Healer, dubbed “skin healer”, uses PolyNucleotides (PNs) as its key ingredient, unlike the typical skin booster which main ingredient consists of HA. PNs are produced by harvesting purified salmon DNA which is known to have excellent compatibility and efficacy in skin rejuvenation- thus rendering it suitable for almost every skin type and age.

Rejuran is commonly referred to as a skin healer more than as a skin booster because its treatment results in enhanced tissue regeneration as well as increased wound healing. Rejuran Healer helps with new DNA formation which then promotes increased cell growth and proliferation whilst also providing antioxidant as well as anti-inflammatory effects. This helps reduce cellular damage caused by external factors such as UV damage, smoking, alcohol intake as well as internal factors like ageing (senescence) and scarring.
The treatment works by increasing fibroblasts in the skin – a cell that produces elastin and collagen to make the skin tighter, firmer and more supple. Hence, even though Rejuran has fewer hydrating benefits, it boasts of reparative effects which will then lead to better skin tone, tightening and brightness thus leading to improved skin texture and overall health.
The treatment method of skin boosters and Rejuran is injected in the same way, but their end results can be vastly different due to the regenerative properties present in the latter which are not found in other skin boosters. Additionally, the Rejuran Healer treatment can be supplemented with other skin boosters as well to achieve the full hydrating and healing effects to your skin!
Which Treatment Should I Opt For?
With everything that has been shared, you might be wondering which treatment option is more suited for you. Restylane, being the treatment with the highest amount of HA per syringe, requires 3 sessions and is suited for those looking for more intense hydration. Due to its nature and intensity, Restylane also has a longer downtime compared to other skin booster treatments.
The Teosyal RD1 also requires 3 sessions and includes the benefit of whitening and other vitamins to promote skin health though with effects that last shorter than Restylane. Hence, RD1 is suited for consumers looking for fast results and fairer skin.
Juvederm Volite is suited for those who prefer fewer treatments and shorter to no downtime with only 1 single session that also produces lasting hydration results. So if the idea of too many injections scares you, Juvederm Volite is your best option.
Finally, Rejuran Healer requires 3-4 sessions and is best for those who wish to repair skin elasticity and
damage along with the anti-ageing benefits to improve one’s overall skin health.
How are Skin Boosters Injected?
Skin boosters are usually injected into the dermal layer of the skin (layer below the epidermis) via a gun-like injector device, manual injection or needleless transdermal air jet system. Manual injection is the recommended method to minimise wastage and optimise the effectiveness of the product and the needleless transdermal air jet system is a great option for those who are afraid of needles.

Here at Zoe Medical, we are fully equipped with alternative modalities other than manual injection including injector guns and needleless transdermal air jet system for needle-fearing patients.
