Rethink facelift and skin tightening:

Ultraformer 3 , Ultherapy and Thermage FLX.
The limits of aesthetic medicine, and medicine in general, are constantly being pushed. There are so many new methods and technologies for body-enhancing and anti-ageing treatments. Now with even more non-invasive methods such as High Intensity Focused Ultratherapy (HIFU), Radiofrequency (RF) Thermage FLX, and Micro-Focused Ultratherapy (MFU), skin lift and tightening are made much for convenient for you.
If you are afraid of going under the knife and are also not a fan of needles, then read on as we introduce you to the following methods that do neither!
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
Ultraformer 3

HIFU offers a non-invasive facelift using high-frequency beams that focus below the dermal layers, avoiding damages to the surface. Zoe Medical uses Ultraformer 3 HIFU, a newer generation of medical-grade HIFU proven to be highly effective and comfortable.
This HIFU technology treats the superficial and deeper skin layers, also known as Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS). This SMAS is a layer of tissue deep within the skin’s subcutaneous tissue and is responsible for supporting the structure of the face. Any changes to this anatomic structure affect the appearance of the face. Collagen loss at this same layer is the reason for saggy jowls, droopy eyelids and double chin.
Collagen is a protein that is responsible for the firm structure of your skin. It also forms a fibrous network of cells to grow, replace and restore dead skin cells constantly. However, as we age, we lose collagen naturally. That is where Ultraformer 3 HIFU comes in. By heating up and stimulating existing collagen fibres in the body, it causes them to thicken and shorten, thus reducing wrinkles and tightening saggy skin.
This method is suitable for customised procedures for the entire face such as full facelift (overall tightening), V-shape facelift, double chin reduction, jowl reduction, brow lift, neck lift and facial wrinkles. Because Ultraformer 3 has specialised handpieces used to treat sensitive areas, it has the added advantage of reaching areas around the eyes such as saggy upper eyelids and fine lines around the lower eyelids.
How many sessions do I need for Ultraformer 3 HIFU facelift?
A typical HIFU process for facial skin tightening requires only one session, though double chin reduction requires about two to three. The number of sessions depends on the amount of fat being reduced. Besides just the face, Ultraformer 3 HIFU is also suitable for neck and body areas such as for fat reduction and body firming.
HIFU for Fat Reduction
Ultraformer 3 HIFU delivers concentrated ultrasound energy into deeper layers of the skin and body without damaging the surface. Utilising thermal heat generated from the HIFU focuses and eliminates the body’s fatty tissues (adipose tissue) by reducing its volume.Areas that are commonly treated for fat reduction using HIFU include the abdomen, inner thighs, back of thighs, hips, and arms.
HIFU for Body Firming

Besides fat reduction, the Ultraformer 3 HIFU is also effective for firming and tightening loose and sagging skin. When the focused ultrasound energy penetrates deep into the skin, it goes past the epidermis and dermis layer to heat up our body’s SMAS. When this soft tissue is heated, collagen is produced, thus firming up loose skin. Body firming areas include the abdomen, inner thighs, back of thighs, hips, arms, and even your face and neck areas.
HIFU is an excellent option for facelift and skin tightening because it has no downtime and is the least invasive compared to other methods. You are able to go back to your normal routine immediately after treatment, and do not need to worry about physical scarrings.
The results for body firming with Ultraformer 3 HIFU, depending on the treated site, appear gradually over six to eight weeks and will last for about nine to 12 months.
Micro-Focused Ultrasound (MFU)
Ultherapy

Besides HIFU, another method is Ultherapy, which utilises Micro-Focused Ultrassound (MFU) to lift and tighten the skin around the eyebrows, neck and décolletage. It works by focusing energy into deep layers of the skin and triggering your body’s natural collagen production. The result? Tight and firm skin at targeted areas with minimal downtime!
What’s more, Ultherapy has a unique advantage featuring ultrasound imaging that allows doctors to see beneath top layers of the skin to accurately target areas at the proper depth.
How long does an Ultherapy procedure last?
Depending on the treatment area, this procedure can last anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. As this procedure encourages a gradual and natural progression of skin lifting and firming, the best and final result will appear about two to three months after treatment.
Radiofrequency (RF)
Thermage FLX

In the final non-invasive facelift method in today’s list, we introduce you to radiofrequency (RF) with the Thermage FLX.
Instead of ultrasound energy, the Thermage FLX procedure utilises the patented Mono-polar Capacitive radiofrequency technology to deliver heat safely and evenly into deep skin layers. This procedure helps remodel existing collagen and stimulate the production of new ones, which is helpful for removing wrinkles and fine lines.
The result? Immediate youthful and a well-defined skin contour in just one session that can last up to 18 months!
This procedure is especially unique because it features a technology called AccuREP that automatically tunes each pulse of energy for an even more precise and consistent treatment to your skin. It also integrates the Comfort Pulse Technology™ (CPT) with multidirectional vibration and interspersed cooling to offer a more comfortable experience.
Which is the best method?
There is no best method because each individual’s body type and skin is unique to the other, and each treatment can be curated to suit your unique needs.
Here at Zoe Medical, we pride ourselves on the ability to cater every treatment to individual needs so as to achieve the best face and skin-enhancing results according to your skin and body type.
HIFU, Ultraformer 3 is best suited for those experiencing skin laxity at the face, including sensitive areas around the eyes, body and also for those looking to reduce fat. MFU, Ultherapy is suitable for those looking to lift and tighten the skin around the face, neck and décolletage. RF, Thermage FLX is best for those looking to remove dynamic facial wrinkles and fine lines and those with mild to moderate skin laxity.
While they differ, the benefits of all three are that they are non-invasive as compared to surgical and injectable methods whilst achieving the desired results. You also do not have to worry about recovery time as all of them boast on their minimal downtime and the absence of scarring and incisions.
You only have the wonders of today’s technology to thank for such advanced skin tightening and facelift methods with HIFU, MFU and RF.
