Hair transplantation is the treatment solution for individuals suffering from hair loss. The transplanted hair follicles have a higher survival rate and will behave as if they were at their original site.


Hair loss can be caused by a few factors and it affects both men and women although hair loss concerns are more prevalent among males.

Below are some of the factors that contribute to hair loss:

  • Scarring from prior injuries or surgeries on the head, face and body.
  • Diseases that causes hair loss such as Effluvium, Alopecia, Thyroid, etc.
  • Hereditary hair loss.

Some hair loss conditions may be more severe than others. However, when they are treated with the right mix of oral medication, topical hair regenerative lotions and follicular regeneration treatments, it is possible to restore hair density and hair lines to any affected areas.

Restoring hair growth requires your body to have the right conditions for hair regeneration which can be regulated with the help of oral medications, advanced hair transplant techniques with the help of an experienced surgeon, as well as topical hair regeneration spray that supports new hair growth after transplantation treatments.

The hair spray plays a vital role in the hair transplant recovery process a it targets to prolong the active growth phase of hair follicles, that is the only phase in the hair growth cycle where new follicle regeneration and growth happens. The spray complements the hair transplant treatment by prolonging the hair growth period, providing nutrients so the scalp can regenerate a higher number of new strands and maintain a healthy re-growth cycle.


The Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a method where the surgeon harvests a strip of tissue with healthy hair or individual follicles, by Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) from the back or side of your scalp. Our experienced hair technicians then separate the tissues using stereomicroscopic magnification into small clusters of follicular units for transplantation.

  • Higher Survival Rates: 

    Manually extracted healthy hair grafts with supporting tissues are being transplanted to the recipient site as soon as possible so it leaves the body for a minimal period. The longer the hair graft leaves the body, the more detrimental it is to the quality of the grafts and its survival rate.

  • Healthier Hair Grafts: 

    Stereomicroscopic magnification allows the hair specialist to separate the follicular units with precision, ensuring that the supporting tissues (nerves, sebum glands, fat, muscle tissues, etc) for the hair grafts’ survival are fully intact. Manually harvested follicular units also have a much lower risk of being traumatized or suffer from graft transection (damage of supporting tissues for hair graft survival) which may happen with robotic follicular extraction.

  • Minimal Scarring & Reduced Risk Of Thinning Hair At Donor Site:

    As scars interfere with new hair growth, the strip harvesting method prevents multiple scarred areas from building up with each subsequent session. Should the skin be prone to scarring, the chosen donor sites are limited to a specific site or a site where the scar is least visible. Where repeated sessions are required, the strip harvesting method simply excises the donor area so that there is only one scar to conceal. Robotic hair transplant scars accumulate with each additional treatment and may look more obvious after subsequent treatments.

  • Fine & Unnoticeable Scars:

    Clean excision technique and the use of Trichophytic Closure Technique – an advanced surgery closure method that hides both edges of the skin to create a tighter bond so the scalp can heal tightly with the thinnest scar possible.

  • Require Less Number Of Hair Transplant Sessions:

    The strip harvesting method allows the hair specialist to maximize the size of the graft harvested from the donor site where the hair is most permanent, allowing for the greatest number of grafts to be transplanted in one session. Typically, more grafts can be transplanted in one session of FUT compared to robotic hair transplant methods.

  • Require Smaller Donor Site: 

    The strip harvesting method requires a small strip of scalp from the donor site with good hair density and is suitable for patients with severe balding conditions.

  • Lower Risk of Thinning Hair around Donor Site: 

    The surgeon will only harvest grafts from areas where hair is most prevalent and dense, usually at the back or sides, as these areas have lower risk of hair thinning.


  • Stitch Removal

    The stitch are normally removed 7-10 days after the procedure. One can head back to their daily activities 2-3 days after treatment (In the FUE method, no stitches are used and hence there is no need for stitch removal)

  • Swelling

    Swelling is expected but it will subside after 2-4 days. Swelling from the subsequent treatment usually occur in a milder form or not at all.

  • New follicle Growth

    A new generation of hair is usually visible at the surface off the scalp between 8-12 weeks after transplantation. Hair rate will continue to grow at the same rate as they did in their original location

  • Shedding

    Light shedding expected few weeks after the procedure. New stand will grow in replacement of the fallen strands.

  • Shampoo & Haircare

    Gentle Shampoo is permitted on the second day after transplanting. Patient need to apply a medicated hair spray as part of the aftercare regimen

  • Scab

    A crust of scab will form over each graft after the procedure. Scab will remain attached for 1-2 weeks before they fall off naturally.

Regenera Activa® is a no-downtime, advanced hair growth treatment that uses regenerative cells extracted from your scalp to stimulate the other areas that are losing hair. This hair loss treatment relies on your body’s own ability to produce new functioning hair follicles by ‘activating’ the inactive areas in the scalp. The patient is a donor and recipient of autologous micrografts which allows the recipient zone to benefit from the regenerative activity of the progenitor cells and the growth factors extracted from the donor site.

Causes of Hair Loss

How Does Regenera Activa® Work?

Using the latest capillary regenerative technology, Regenera Activa®’s patented system extracts “micro-grafts” from your scalp. When injected into the areas of hair loss, these “micro-grafts” repair and regenerate your scalp. The result is thicker and stronger hair.

What happens during the treatment?

Regenera Activa® is a comfortable 3-step procedure which takes up to 60 minutes.

  • Step 1: 

    Local anaesthesia is applied around the nape of the neck and with the use of a punch biopsy tool 3 skin samples are taken with a diameter of only 2.5mm each. 

  • Step 2: 

    The samples collected are then subjected to mechanical processing and filtration in a specialized device to isolate progenitor cells, stem cells and growth factors, all of which have regenerative abilities.

  • Step 3: 

    The suspension prepared is then reintroduced to the area of the scalp which requires treatment using fine tiny needles. This initiates the repair process and stimulates blood vessel formation and regeneration of hair follicles.

Exosomal Treatment for Hair Loss

There are several sources of novel and cellular therapy for regeneration of hair follicles. Those sources include autologous cells originating from adipose and bone marrow. Another source of therapies includes placental cell-derived exosome product. Exosomes originate from placental derived mesenchymal stem cells.

They are purified using a proprietary filtration process. ASCE are not cells but microvesicles that contain no nucleus or DNA. It is viewed as one of the purest forms of cellular therapy available, as their function provides tissue stimulation and wound healing by triggering the patient’s own regenerative cells to become active.

What can I expect from ASCE Treatment?

The safety and tolerability of the ASCE is known, however, no scientific studies or case reports are available in hair restoration patients to determine efficacy of ASCE. This is a very new product that has great hope. No guarantee of success can be made with this Korean FDA-approved product, and clinical responses to these topical therapies vary from one patient to another. Treatment for hair loss with novel regenerative therapies is exciting with safety and tolerability well-established, but efficacy studies are still outstanding.

What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are the latest generation of naturally bioactive amnion-based products for patient treatment of hair thinning and loss. Exosomes act as paracrine effectors, i.e., they have a role in signalling or stimulating nearby cells. The stimulating effect upon tissues and cells is caused by transferring biochemical stimulating contents from one cell to another. These messengers are termed exosomes and microvesicles, collectively known as extracellular vesicles (EVs).

How do they Work in Hair Stimulation?

Regenerative cells by nature work to heal, repair, stimulate, and restore cells and tissues. The hair follicle is susceptible and vulnerable to miniaturisation by genetic and hormonal effects from DHT.

How are the MSC Extracellular Vesicles used to stimulate the scalp?

The tiny size of EVs allows for easy absorption into the superficial dermis of scalp when mixed into your own shampoo. Common autologous scaffolds can be used such as Regenera Activa or Dr CYJ Hair Filler because they assist in cell retention and cell migration. The procedure is performed in the same manner as other simple procedures done at our centre.
